![]() ![]() In the patch change selector I can click the virtual keyboard, and see midi note data going to AD2, but the program changes have no effect. I thought perhaps I need to get Mixbus to actively select the correct kit, but I can't seem to get AD2 to respond to the patch change command. I can see midi data going into AD2, but no sound is output until I change to a different kit and then back again. In AD2 the correct kit is selected (with a * next to the kit name - presumably indicating it thinks something has been edited - which it hasn't). When I save, close and then re-open the project the drums don't sound. When I use AD2 in my Mixbus project, and select a kit, all is working fine. Hope these posts have helped.Has anyone had any success with Midi Patch Changes to select kits in Addictive Drums 2 ? I just thought it would be simpler for now for you to deal with just getting some audio out. The way I told you to set it is if you want to use just the stereo outs from AD2. Good luck and welcome.īeepster jasonjamie Sidroe I just saw the previous post. Things like Insert Synth have remained essentially the same though. You'll see stuff for X1, X2, and X3 which all have some very different stuff but do have commonalities so just make sure you pay attention to which version they are using. Also take a moment to go to the CakeTV section of this website for a bunch of helpful vids about basic processes. For someone familiar with DAW stuff it'll probably take 45 minutes and get you familiar with pretty much the entire general workflow of Sonar. You should really REALLY go through the tutorials at the start of the manual. Thanks for the reply, i am getting confused by all this as i am very new to X2 as i used to use logic all the time on a mac, Jasonjamie Sidroe I just saw the previous post. There is also a video on inserting a multi out drum synth on the CakeTV section of this site that helped me immensely (but he's using Session Drummer but the set up is basically the same). BTW the Insert Synth stuff is in the manual tutorials so it's worth going through those if you haven't already but I think they use a Simple Instrument Track instead of the multi out method. If I have misunderstood your predicament my apologies. Once it's set up save the project then go through all the track's Input/Output/Channel/etc things to see what goes where and you'll probably get a better idea of how to do this stuff manually if you so choose to in the future. Doing it manually is a bit of a pain and requires quite a bit of knowledge/fiddling which is why the Insert Synth thingie is there to do it for you. Then go to the AD Window/Properties page, choose/load a kit and you should be able to play back your MIDI clip. All your outputs will be set up automatically and be routed directly to the Master bus (which you can change if you want). it's the one with the icon that looks like an old DIN style MIDI cable connector). as well as a MIDI track to put your MIDI clip into (so if you have a piece of material you want to use just drag it into that track. It'll give you a stereo audio track for each kitpiece, the overheads, the Aux outputs, etc. I'm assuming you want an audio track for each kitpiece in AD. ![]() Just go to the Browser (press B), click the Synths button in the browser (which shows the Synth Rack), click the plus sign button (+) then select Addictive Drums and the Insert Synth dialog should pop up. You should be able to get it up and running pretty much automatically using the Insert Synth Assistant. ![]()
